Connect a TV, Gaming or Streaming Device

Instructions to Connect

  1. Register your device at https://appsrv3.emu.edu/is/register-device/.
  2. Login using your Royal username (not email address) and password.
  3. Find the MAC address of the TV, gaming or streaming device.
    • The MAC address can sometimes be found on the device packaging, in a menu on the device, or on a label on the device. If you are having trouble finding the MAC address, try Googling "MAC address" and the name of your device. The MAC address may also be referred to as Hardware Address, Physical Address, Ethernet Address, or Wired Address.  It will be a 12 digit combination of numbers and letters such as 00:3c:ec:29:9a:44 or 00-f0-cc-90-15-aa.
    • There may be more than one MAC address depending on whether the device is capable of both wired and wireless access.  Choose the wireless MAC address.
  4. Enter the MAC address and select the device type.
  5. Click Register.
  6. On the device you registered above search for the EMU-iot wireless network and connect.
  7. When prompted for a key enter the EMU-iot wireless key which can be found at http://my.emu.edu on the Housing tab.
NOTE: This key changes in August.

Be aware that you will be held responsible for all activity on this device.  If the device is used in a way that violates EMU policies, even if by someone else without your permission, it is still your responsibility.
