Voicemail Access and Transcripts

Accessing Voicemail in Microsoft Teams

Voicemail messages can be checked within the Teams application thanks to Microsoft Teams Phone's integrated voicemail feature. Voicemail messages are accessible via Teams Voicemail section under the Calls tab.

Voicemail messages may include:

  • Audio playback
  • Caller information
  • Date and time of the message
  • Voicemail transcription (when available)

To access voicemail:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Select the Calls tab.
  3. Select Voicemail on the left side of the Calls screen.
  4. Select a voicemail message to listen to playback or review the transcript.

Playback and Voicemail Transcripts

For a large number of voicemails, Microsoft Teams automatically creates voicemail transcripts. Without having to listen to the audio recording, users can quickly review voicemail messages using transcripts.

Microsoft speech recognition services are used to automatically generate voicemail transcripts. Specific words or phrases may not be entirely accurate due to automated transcription, depending on caller clarity, background noise, and audio quality.

If further explanation is needed, users can still listen the original voicemail recording straight from Teams.
