Understanding Teams Phone

Microsoft Teams Phone is EMU’s cloud-based phone system that allows users to make and receive phone calls directly through Microsoft Teams on their computer, mobile device, or Teams-certified desk phone. Teams Phone replaces many traditional offices phone functions by integrating calling, voice mail, contacts, and call history directly into the Teams application.

With Teams Phone, users can:

  • Make and receive internal and external phone calls
  • Access voice mail and voice mail transcripts
  • Transfer or forward calls
  • Manage call history and contacts
  • Use Teams Phone while working remotely or on campus

Teams Phone is connected to the user’s EMU Microsoft account. Because of this, users should always ensure they are signed into their EMU account and not a personal Microsoft account while using Teams Phone services.
